I am the son of Robert Bedzyk (inmate # A204234)who is coming up for Parole in May of 2009. I was born 10/20/1985, I was just a little over 2 years old at the time of the horrible incident involving my father and David Iannicca in 1987.
I know only of stories of this fateful night which took the life of David, because I was not present. I feel my father was misreprented in this case. The stories I was told about this night was that David's fiance was trying to make him (David) jealous by flirting with my father, he was then asked to leave and he was already in his car getting ready to leave and was pulled out of the car by David and his friends. He reached into his tackle box and grabbed the knife to defend himself.
There were no other witnesses to the incident other than David's friends. In other words, it was everyone else's word against Robert's.
I have read online and in a recent Cleveland Newspaper article that my father is not remorseful. How can anyone say that without asking my father? He has missed my entire life, I have had to be raised by my Uncle. I will not deny that my parents (who were married when I was born) had some small drug problems at the time. They dibbled and dabbed in Marijuana and drinking liquor. Since my father was arrested and sentenced to life in prison, my mother (his wife) turned to even dangerous drugs and threw herself into a downward spiral of her own life and just now 21 years later is starting to get her life back together. This is the reason I had to be raised by my Uncle.
Everyone is stating that Robert's actions didn't affect other people's lives. David's family wasn't the only one affected. I have missed both of my parents and I know that my father is remorseful for this horrible accident. I do know my father did not intend to kill anyone.
My father has received his high school diploma, studied some college courses and have learned some carpentry skills while being in prison. He was not involved or initiate the Lucasville Riots. He was only another inmate that was in the Lucasville prison at the time.
Sincerely,
Anthony James Bedzyk

- Bob was my brother in law, and my nephew needs to get to know his father. Bob had none of his own witnesses there to testify on his behalf.

- If but one of the jurors read this, it hope that you will take the time to read the details of this man's case and vote to set him free. I know all too well how a lack of funds can and very often will lead to insurmountable injustice; both personally and abroad have I witnessed this miscarriage of justice when it comes to attorney incompetence, -and usually only because of a lack of funds. Please set this man free. Even if he is guilty, he has surely paid a price all to high.

- Dear Ohio Parole, When you review this case please keep in mind that there are people who make mistakes and remorsefuly and painfully learn from them. Ther are child molesters , perverts that have been given slaps on the wrist by the system. pleace release this man so he can at least have a chance to be a grandfather and a responcible citzen for the latter years of his life.

- David Iannicca will not get a second chance at life and that is sad and unfortunate. He is with GOD and living a new life. As for Robert, he has managed to educate him self and demonstrate that he can be a productive citizen rather than a burden to tax payers. He has paid his debt to society and must now honor David by giving back and helping others to not make the same mistakes he made.
