Senator Hillary Clinton recently announced her support for Israel's enormous separation wall, which she declared was not against the Palestinians. She did so despite the wall's devastating effect on Palestinian life:
-- the wall bisects much of the West Bank's most fertile agricultural lands, often severing villages from their lands, farmers from their fields, and the entire area from its capital in Jerusalem
--the wall encompasses Arab East Jerusalem with some 200,000 Palestinians, who will be cut off from their West Bank hinterland (1
-- most of the Palestinians fresh water wells will be on Israels side of the wall (2
-- thousands of olive trees, the staple of Palestinian agriculture, and large numbers of Palestinian homes have been bulldozed to make way for the wall
-- the wall surrounds some 50 Palestinian communities, home to 245,000 people, on three and in some cases four sides; entry or exit to some of these communities is only permitted on foot, while the remainder can be reached only by Israeli-controlled roads or gates that allow extremely restricted entry and exit at the whim of Israelis and without regard to the legitimate needs of the Palestinian residents.
-- the wall directly affects half a million Palestinians: adults cut off from their jobs, students from their schools and all from access to medical care. Commerce has been destroyed in many areas, particularly where the wall runs down the middle of commercial districts
Finally, and very importantly, Senator Clinton supports the wall despite the ruling of the International Court of Justice, which found that its route outside the Green Line violates international law.(3 The court ruling, overwhelmingly endorsed by the UN General Assembly, calls on Israel to dismantle the wall and compensate the affected Palestinians. It further obligates all states parties to the Fourth Geneva Convention (including the United Sates) to ensure compliance by Israel. The wall is widely believed to constitute an annexation of great swathes of Palestinian land and prejudices any final status talks regarding borders.
A political figure so disdainful of international law, human rights and the requirements of justice should not be in contention for the highest office of our country. We therefore urge you to sign this pledge to oppose the anticipated candidacy of Hillary Clinton for the presidency of the United States of America.

    • Boo to Ms. Clinton! I have nothing but the most visceral scorn for her biased and unprincipled pandering to the US Israeli lobby and to Israel. May the Christians and Muslims of Palestine be granted peace with justice! May the Jewish people, whom I was taught to respect, find deliverance from Political Zionism and the theocracy-military oligarchy (hardly a "democracy"!!) that holds sway in Israel. The ultimate victim has become the state-terroristic brutal victimizer...shame on Sharon et al!

    • It's apparent that your political aspirations have taken precedence over any ethical and moral principles you may have had, with complete indifference to humanity and the rule of law. Those are hardly befitting qualifications for any person seeking a presidential candidacy.

    • Too few Americans understand the horrors of the Israeli occupation and the ongoing theft of Palestinian lands. Our domestic politics, sadly, has too often meant misguided support for Israel's policies. Unfortunately, US support only enables Israel. Without some discipline from US , Israel's policies with continue to generate injustice, suffering , mistrust, frustration and finally terrorism.

    • Supporting the violation of international law to ensure the support of a particular constituency seriously undermines Mrs. Clinton's credibility and must void her eligibility as a possible candidate to run for the office of U.S. President.

    • It would be a great change in the American history to have a woman for the first time as a president; but Hillary Clinton would be a very poor choice, no ethics, no morals and NO HILLARY.

    • H. Clinton should not be allowed to run for president of the U.S. She wants to gain favor with her zionist and Israeli friends at the expense of the Palestinian people. She not only is in contradiction of the ruling by the International Court Of Justice against sharon's wall, but she is also in contradiction with the laws of God and nature.

    • The Wall should be built on the Green Line. It is illegal and is theft of Palestinian agricultural land, greenhouses and water wells. Many homes, shops and olive groves have been destroyed to make way for the Wall. It is an obstacle to peace.

    • No person deserves to be President of the United States who supports apartheid and the subjugation of others in violation of the Hague Resolutions of 1907, Geneva Conventions and Rome Statutes. Supporting Israel violates these standards of decency. Invading Iraq and Afghanistan, countries that did not attack us, also violates these standards. Mrs. Clinton promotes all three, demonstrating a blatant disregard for human rights...ALL humans...not just the Jewish ones. As a journalist and author I will do everything in my power to expose people including Mrs. Clinton who support, promote and advocate policies and the interests of foreign countries in direct violation to the American Values articulated in the preamble, Federalists papers, Constitution and its amendments. DC is not located in Tel Aviv and candidates for the presidency of the United States can only be loyal to one nation, ONE NATION. That nation is the United States. Not Israel. We do not want a neodem replacing the neocons. We need leaders.
