Do you think Eon Productions should start to use John Gardner and Raymond Benson's original James Bond novels and adapt them for their upcoming James Bond screenplay projects?

Just about every novel developed by either author could be used to great effect. As a result Bond fans and movie-goers can get what they want- decent plots and characters that harp back to Ian Fleming himself!

- I don't agree that the books should be directly adapted as, with these stories already being out there, what's the point? But Benson should definitely be brought on board instead of "we've seen a few Bond films so we know how to write one" Wade and Purvis. The two films since these two came on board have been awful. In fact, Bond's been stale and recycled ever since Maibaum died. An equally big concern is the directors. Somebody who really cares about 007 needs to be brought in, not just some washed up "director-for-hire". Look how well Peter Hunt did with Majesty's. He knew the character, he knew the set up, he stayed close to the novel. EON need to quit counting their takings and bring 007 back down to earth again. The two Jason Bourne pictures have proved that the public will still go for a more down to earth, grittier approach to these type of movies. It's a shame that Cubby ain't here to pull things back into line as he did after You Only Live Twice and Moonraker.....
