Dear Facebook Staff and Owner,

Most of the facebook users don't share your decision about removing the network pages. Our reasons:

- There can be a million groups about the same topic.

- Groups will be harder to monitor & control.

- It would force people in the networks to join a group to be able to communicate with each other (going to at least 2 different places).

- Networks are easier to access: people who belong to many groups, like I do, won't be able to access the pages as easily as it is with a Network tab. Removing the "Networks" tab from the main menu bar wasn't a smart decision either.

- Networks have the important advantage of being linked to privacy settings to allow or disallow access our profile information.

- Confirmation emails filter the members in corporate networks. The boards & walls are therefore more confidential and secure than in a group.

- Networks allow people to create groups limited to a region, college/school or work place.

- Network portals contain useful statistics: how many people you know in specific companies, colleges/schools & regions. It's also useful to post events, see what's popular within groups, market listings/announcements/news.

- When using the general Facebook search for a contact (particularly if it's someone with a common name), it will make it much harder to narrow down the searches than to search for this person within a network.

- Events and groups links can be published here. Sometimes the invitations are not enough to add as much people as we want, and if someone publish the links in several groups, you send warnings accussing us of spaming.

Why would a social network site decide to remove network pages?

We hope to be heard!!!
