Reduce the cuts to Arizona's universities

We the undersigned, demand an extreme reduction in proposed budget cuts to Arizona's universities.

In a global knowledge economy the economic fortunes of individuals and states are inextricably bound to access to quality education. Arizona already has one of the lowest literacy levels in the country. A survey of college costs relative to median state earnings gave the University of Arizona an F for affordability. Tuition will go up even more if these cuts are enacted. With such cuts, access to the university will become even more stratified by class and race and the state as a whole will suffer.

Please reconsider the extent of the proposed cuts, for the good of the state and the future of its residents.
