The HD2 is an amazing piece of hardware, and arguably it's the best phone hardware on the market today. With the official announcement that no Windows Phone 7 upgrade will be possible, owners are left with an advanced piece of hardware with an operating system and App Store that is limited and no longer supported by Microsoft and AAA developers. The limitations and dead end that Windows Mobile 6.5 represent leave current owners feeling left behind, and potential buyers with T-Mobile in the U.S. wary of buying into a dying platform. What we request is that an official and optional Android update be made for the HD2 to give current and potential owners a device with a future of guaranteed support and updates.

    • WP7 wont have too much of a future, its a clone from the first iPhone firmwares, even iPhone evolded. WM6.5 will die from the lack of new apps. Even QIK doesnt run on the HD2 and they did nothing to make it run.

    • HTC have two options either allow continued HD2 support via Android or shell out for WM6.x AND WP7S support people. You know where the smart money is HTC. Let XDA-Devs look after WM6.x and HTC can officially offer Android 2.x with support.
