- It's not that I think Scotland COULDN'T be independent so I disagree with you on that point. I just think it would be a backward and hostile step in an ever shrinking world. The English, Welsh and Northern Irish are my fellow countrymen and the Union Jack is my flag as my birthright. I agree with you about the amount EU membership would cost though, subsidising all these new Eastern European countries - no thanks!
