Steve Jobs and Apple,
We will only buy a macbook (of any kind) if you fix this HUGE mistake you have made of removing firewire. A matte screen would be nice too, but the Firewire.....that we cannot live without.
Please do not spit in the face of the musicians, video, and audio professionals (along with many others) who's support has been instrumental to your success.
What happened to imovie and the promise that everyone could be a filmmaker? only with firewire. Nothing on the market brings such potential on the scale that firewire does.

- A FireWire port of some sort, I don't care if it's FW400 or FW800, is required for many people who already own external FireWire drives and/or Fire/Wire or i.Link video cameras. Relagting people to a slower connectivity option for things such as data backups and video editing is not a good idea.

- A Macbook without FW is useless for me. I cannot use my camcorder or from friends (all are MiniDV), nor HDV (iMovie is not very usefull anymore on the MB, you need a MBP for iMovie? That's the wrong way!), and only 1 of my 3 Firewire HDs, because 1 has an additional USB-Port. I came to the Mac and Video-cutting with an ibook and my MiniDV-camcorder, which I still use and have. And all other (usefull) video-format are also FW: MiniDV, DV-CAM, DVC-Pro, HDV, ... Better make it FW800!
