It appears that the BBC have deigned not to recommission Stewart Lees Comedy Vehicle for a second series.
Met with huge critical-acclaim across the media and commended for making the viewers think, the decision appears to have been justified merely for not achieving the viewing figures the BBC would have liked.
As a public broadcaster, the BBC should not be chasing viewing figures and should provide a broad range of programming catering for all tastes. Stand-up comedy is already poorly catered for on the broadcaster and decommissioning a critically-successful series without giving it opportunity to grow, shows a lack of commitment to the genre.
Therefore, we request that the BBC recommission this excellent programme for a second series.

- Please recommission this highly inventive, presumably inexpensive and above all else hilarious comedy. It would be a bold statement in a television schedule that includes the like of Hole in the Wall and Total Wipeout, why not give just 6 half hours to people with an IQ over 80.

- Stand up comedy very rarely works on television. Stewart Lee did it perfectly.

- There is far too little intelligent comedy as it is.

- Considering the rubbish BBC continually re-commisions (My Family, Me Hero, etc...) it's an absolute digrace that the best show on TV in years will not be given a second series. Shame on you BBC.

- A refreshing format - when all around are tired old BBC sitcoms...Not fair!!

- Another superb example of woeful commissioning decisions, how this can be dropped whilst asinine programming such as Hole In The Wall gets recommissioned is an absolute mystery.

- Head and shoulders above so many other shows. Sheer class. Please reward us with another series for putting up with our fee going on insipid garbage like My Family and Michael MacIntyre rubbish!
