Dear Pulaski County Library Board,
Currently for consideration by the Pulaski County Library Board is removal of Belle, the cat, who has resided at the Dublin Library in Dublin, Virginia for 3 years. Belle was surrendered to the Animal Shelter in 2005 and was selected by the Pulaski County Humane Society as the perfect library cat because she was so gentle and loved people picking her up and petting her.
The following residents of Pulaski County, Virginia, want Belle to stay in the library for patrons to enjoy, children to love, and to draw visitors and new forward thinking residents to our county.
Thank you for taking the time to read our comments.

- Belle should stay in the library because of her positive impact on 99\% of the people that visit the library and because 1) no opposition has been publically expressed 2) no injury to a citizen has been documented by a medical doctor 3) the county liability policy covers accident and injury occuring in county facilities.

- Belle has been and continues to be a positive influence on the patrons of the library and is not a risk in any way to the library's visitors. Belle should stay in her home of the last three years. The library board and its leadership should be reminded that they represent and serve the majority of the citizens of Pulaski County. Since when does two or even three complaints over the last three years represent a majority. This is still a democracy where the majority rules and votes count in this county.

- I understand an anonymous complaint about Belle causing allergies was filed. No credence was given since the complaint was anonymous. Then the complaint was filed again with a signature. In essence that's ONE complaint with hundreds of other patrons of the Dublin library rallying to Belles defense. Belle's been at the library for three years causing only one problem and enhancing the lives of 100's of others. If one cat can cause allergies then no books should be allowed out of the library lest they go into a home with a cat who might leave it's dander on the book. Belle is part of the Dublin library and community and she should remain.

- Please tell those who do not wish to go to the Dublin Library (the two complaintants) that there are libraries in nearby towns who are catless....save us the pain of having to explain why Belle should be allowed to stay...if you have nothing better than to stir up a stink of a cute kitty....get a real life!!!!

- It is ridiculous to deprive Belle of her home in the library, especially when most people love her. I can think of a lot more things to sue the library over. What if I drop a large book on my sensitive old senior citizen feet? This surely would injure them, so should I sue the Library? What if the dust in the Library sets off my allergies? Should I sue the Library? If Belle goes, I certainly will not set a foot in the Library!

- we've let 1 or 2 people's comments change too many things in this country as it is......My family and I are great CAT lovers and we say let Belle alone..she's just trying to have a good home and be with people that love her.

- All animals are precious and beautiful and created by God to provide us with an extra dose of love and happiness that we may not be able to find elsewhere. All animals have feelings and emotions just as humans do. Think about it for a minute, would you want to be forced out of your home with nowhere to go or family and friends to love and share your happy and sad experiences with? Please let Belle stay at her home where she is loved by all who visit her at the library and allow her to share her happiness with them.

- Let her stay. She belongs there and the people who have issues can always go to another library. We are the majority and should be the deciding factor.

- Keep Belle, she is such an asset to the library system. She is the only reason we come to Dublin so much, instead of going to Radford.
