Bank of America is unscrupulous and has a plethora of complaints from consumers posted online (see below). The consumers assert that, they were duped, and or their banking relationship with the bank was unethically compromised. Please join me by supporting this petition, which will be forwarded to The Comptroller of the Currency (governing body of national banks).

Consumer Complaint
In December 2008, my account was purportedly supposed to be closed by Bank of America, because I was told I had filed an excessive amount of disputes with my credit card or debit card. All the disputes were legitimate and every one of them with the exception of one (Because of Bank of Americas negligence), were resolved in my favor. Clearly, I was exercising my right pursuant to Visas dispute policy. However, to date the account remains open with a positive balance. Nonetheless, I do not have access to my account. I was told the account is available for cash deposits only, which is idiotic. Hence, I challenged the bank. Consequently, Bank of America contends (Matthew Taft, Asst. VP) that they do not investigate all dispute claims (credit card, debit card, ach) filed by consumers, because it is not cost effective.

Furthermore, he noted that my account will be closed soon. Obviously, I am outrage by the fact that my banking privileges have been restricted and my money is being withheld from me! Therefore, I decided to fight back, because there is power in numbers. I plan forward this petition to The Comptroller of the Currency, which will investigate my complaint and any other complaints against the bank. Therefore, if you have a complaint against Bank of America, please note it in the comments field, so your concern or concerns can be investigated. I would like to thank everyone in advance for supporting this petition!

    • offers me 2.99\% interest rate, charges me for balance transfer, then tries to raise rate to 15+\% just a couple months later, 12 months before rate was to expire. I PAID for this balance transfer to receive this rate. What crooks.

    • I contacted Bank of America by phone today to find out why they had charged me (4) 35.00 overdraft fees. I show that my account was still had 8.00 in it when they began charging me these fees. Granted I have been with Bank of America for over 7 year and they have never done this type of thing before. I contacted the 18004321000 and spoke with Ishamela who was very nice but proceeded to tell me that three of the overdraft fees that they charged were for a pending transaction of 28.00 that did not clear until 8/3/09. They processed the fees on 7/31/09. Keep in mind, I receive my direct deposit 8/1/09 from the State of Texas - actually BOA receives my direct deposit on 7/30 but they hold it until 8/1/09. She stated they do that for pending transactions now. If this is policy for BOA, WHY ARE THEIR CUSTOMERS NOT INFORMED OF THIS INFORMATION. How can they change policy about MY funds and MY account without informing THEIR "valued" customer of the changes? I told her that they are stealing money from their custo
