We respectfully request that the managment of Romeis Apartments in Chippewa Falls, WI (Meridian Group INC.) support the proposal to BAN SMOKING in the Romeis Millstream Apartment complex that houses senior citizens and/or persons with disabilities. It is important to each resident to be able to enjoy the environment in their homes without being exposed to cigarette smoke and dangers associated with that (ie: Fires, Smoke Inhalation, and respitory issues.) Smoking should not be allowed in any of your properties that house elderly or persons with disablities due to the fact it endangers their safety. We are Chippewa Falls residents, property owners, visitors,employees, and/or concerned citizens. We want to make a difference. Please strongly consider this petition when you decide how you will vote. Please enact the Smoking Ban.

- Please assist in the protection of some of our most valuable & vulnerable citizens. A vote to ban smoking at such facilities seems reasonable and necessary, given todays knowledge of the dangers of second hand smoke, and an avoidable fire hazard risk. I feel others who reside in such facilities have an overriding right to a reasonable measure of personal safety. In my opinion, continuing to allow smoking to avoid stepping on the toes of those who have made the choice to smoke seems significantly callous. Smokers have the choice to find another place to smoke, or the choice to quit. It is easier than finding another place to live. Thank you for your attention and consideration!

- somthing needs to be done! I have personally witnessed the smell of smoke in the hallways one day i was visiting my grandmother, i was walking down the hallway this little old lady pushing her walker and pulling her oxygen tank saying i wish they would do somthing about the smoking in here. I said why dont you talk to management, she said o no if you complain they are mean to you so i dont say anything. WELL ITS TIME WE AS THE PUBLIC NEED TO TAKE CARE OF THE ELDERLY BECAUSE MOST OF THEM HAVE BEEN AROUND ALOT LONGER THEN US. LOOKS TO ME THEY NEED NEW MANAGEMENT!!!!!!!!!!!

- My mother in law lives close to where the fire was and was severly tramatized by the incident. Smoking in this type of apartment complex needs to be banned.

- in favor of the stop smoking at the Romies apt., i guess i thought they already had a no smoking there, glad i didn't move in there recently. it use to be for only seniors i think it should have stayed that way.
