First and foremost, I would like to applaud you for taking a stand against dog fighting and animal cruelty by suspending Michael Vick. By doing so, you are making a strong statement that what he has done is reprehensible. Now, I respectfully ask that you take your statement one step further by making Michael Vicks ban from the National Football League permanent.
When Michael Vick signed a contract with the Atlanta Falcons, he became a role model for young children everywhere. He has not shown remorse or regret in accepting his role in the deliberate slaughter and torture of helpless animals. Role models should teach children valuable life lessons through example. At times, those life lessons come from mistakes. By permanently suspending Michael Vick, you send a clear message to children that every action has a consequence. Severe actions yield severe consequences.
Animals are really just an extension of people, of a family. Dogs, specifically, love and serve their human companions unconditionally. Dogs, much like children, are products of their environment. Fight Dogs know only suffering, brutality, pain and certain excruciating death. What kind of person can do such a thing to another living creature? And all for the sake of sport and gambling! Michael Vick profited for many years on the torture and murder of these helpless animals.
Unfortunately, we cannot undue the past. These despicable acts will mar our history books and memories for years and generations to come. Now we call on you to take a stand and turn this tragedy around. Use your position of power and affluence for good. Be a role model for young children and an advocate for animals. Give a voice to those who cannot speak for themselves. Send a clear message that those who engage in dog fighting and animal cruelty will face severe punishment.
We, the undersigned, respectfully request Michael Vick's immediate and permanent ban from the National Football League. He is a convicted criminal of one of the most heinous crimes, cruelty and abuse towards animals. We advocate for the humane treatment of all living things and we give a voice to those who do not have one.

- I have a 2 year old Pitbull and he is the sweetest, most loving dog that I have ever had. What Vick did to these dogs was heartless and cruel. I know that I wouldn't want my kids to look up to Vick as a role model in the NFL. He is a disgrace and should be banned!

- I have a passion for animals. I've been working at an animal hospital for the past 4 years and have 4 dogs among other animals as my own and Michael Vick needs to pay for what he did. He doesn't deserve to breathe. How could he possibly kill a living, breathing animal. He is a horrible person and deserves whatever he gets.
