- Senator Burr, if you feel so strongly that no one should have any kind of Government Regulated healthcare, I would implore you to denounce the Healthcare Plan that you and your family are currently receiving, courtesy of the USA Government. I would also firmly implore you to quickly put forth a Resolution in the Senate that would dissolve the Medicare Insurance Plan that is currently in place. That is also a US Government administered healthcare program, and per your words and recent deeds, you would be a total hypocrite if you did not go forward with this. Your current words and deeds are completely in line with making sure that all Americans should shoulder the bill for healthcare on their own, and only through Insurance Corporations instead of having a USA Government sponsered Public Option that would actually bring some real competition to the health insurance ponzi scheme. We all know that you, Senator Burr, and your Republican Party morals hold high the ideals of capitalist competition.

- Forgetting for a moment all the statistics and studies and rhetoric surrounding this issue, health care is an issue that affects each and every one of us. Someone who has enjoyed blanket coverage for himself and his family for so many years, with little out-of-pocket expenditures, cannot fully grasp the need for reform. Senator Burr, you can't have your cake and throw it out the window at the same time. It makes you look selfish and hypocritical, and widens the gap between Congress and those it's supposed to represent. You also need to remember, when you feel the urge to erode the people's trust in their government, that you are their government. You've been in office while your party was in the majority, and the only steps you took were to strengthen corporate profits from the pockets of your constituents. You have a chance to regain some honor and dignity through your behavior on this issue, and finally act in the best interests of the citizens of North Carolina.

- I would feel much better about the safety and security of our country if I knew that our Congress had their own private healthcare and not the horrible Socialist system that they are forced to use now. Do it for America , Senator!

- At least please be honest with yourself, Senator. If you really don't approve of govenment paid insurance please give up YOUR govenment paid insurance (which I am paying for, you don't approve of and others greatly need).

- It's not so easy for someone with no money and no job who just graduated from college to get health care. Could I use yours? After all, I help pay for it!

- Not only do you and all members of Congress have superb, top-notch government-provided healthcare, Senator Burr, but so do all seniors (through Medicare) and all members of the United States Armed Forces. I don't understand your opposition to government-insured health care for everyone. Please rethink your position! (Signed by a Winston-Salem voter.)

- Senator Burr, you have voted for corporations and not for the people of your State the entire time the Bush Administration was in office. Sir, I would ask you to for once do what is right for the people of your State and embrace a public option so there will be true competition for the insurance companies and prices can finally come down. If not, please be at least less of a liar when you say things such as the government cannot manage healthcare. Your healthcare is managed quite fine and I would love to have you tell a room full of North Carolina senior citizens that you will be voting to recind Medicare. At least be truthful from this point forward. Vote for the people or Give It Up!

- Richard, get to the nearest ATM as fast as possible (park illegally if you have to), take out all the money the machine will give you and, run to the nearest insurance industry lobbyist who will set you up with a private health insurance plan.

- I have a preexisting condition, Senator, and my employer doesn't offer health insurance so I have none. But I pay for YOUR health insurance. Give it up -- as long as you tell me that I don't have the right to health care, I see no reason I should continue paying for yours.
