    • I do not believe that the city of Kokomo has demonstrated the need for annexation at this point, and has not adequately explained the impact of annexation to the citizens in the proposed areas.

    • I believe that this plan will add substantially to the cost of my property tax by shifting the cost of City Government to the higher valued annexed properties

    • I do not see what services the city is going to provide to me that I don't already pay for except sewer service. I have city water, trash pick-up, county sherrif protection, and Harrison Township fire department. All I see this as is paying more taxes and as a single mom make it more difficult for me to make ends meet.

    • We purchased a home outside the city limits and are absolutely against annexation! This is simply an effort by the city to generate additional tax revenue against the wishes of the majority of county residents.

    • I bought a house in the county because I wanted to live in the county, not the city. We don't have city water and sewer now and believe that I would be forced to bear the cost of being connected. There have been no attempts by the city to lay out an implementation plan for when new fire stations would be built and firefighters and police hired, when trash service would begin, when street lights would be installed, when those not on city water would be connected, and so on.

    • If I had wanted a house in Kokomo city limits, I would have bought a house in Kokomo city limits. The county has been doing an excellent job of snow removal and police patrol in my area. I see no benefit to my neighborhood from annexation.

    • I deliberately bought a home outside city limits, and now that they're building the bypass, it seems the city wants to expand to include all of the land to where the bypass will be built. The services they say that will benefit me, I already have, although I do currently pay for waste removal and have my own floodlights. I believe it's all about the bypass.

    • If I wanted to be in the city I would have bought a house in the city. I don't see how this can benefit the city or me either. What do they want more home owner defaulting on their mortgages. With the extra tax burden on the home owners thats exactly what will happen. I would like a copy of this petition to take to my neighbors who don't have a computer

    • This is simply a vicious money grab by the city of Kokomo. They're broke and want the county residents to bail them out.

    • City gains, we (those annexed) lose!! There isn't enough benefits for the higher taxes. Not to mention the worry if the city will actually keep their word to benefit all that are involved.
