Recently, I was shocked to hear your comparison of Cindy Sheehan, mother of a soldier killed in Iraq, to Bill Burkett, the retired Texas Air National Guard officer, who provided documents to CBS, purporting to show that President Bush received preferential treatment during his years in the Texas Air National Guard. Your exact words were, Her story is nothing more than forged documents. There's nothing about it that's real, including the mainstream media's glomming onto it. It's not real. It's nothing more than an attempt. It's the latest effort made by the coordinated left.

Casey Sheehan was no forged document, Mr. Limbaugh. Army Spc. Casey Sheehan, 1st Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, died in Baghdad, Iraq, when his unit was attacked with rocket-propelled grenades and small arms fire. Casey Sheehan died as a United States soldier fighting for our country.

Your comments in regards to Army Spc. Sheehan and his grieving mother are nothing but disrespectful and hurtful to all those who support our troops and their families in these hard times. Whether one agrees or disagrees with Mrs. Sheehans manner of grieving, we must support all families of the military, not just those whose politics we agree with.

What can only be understood by a parent, Mrs. Sheehan not only grieves for her son, but she grieves for the loss of a future with her son. Mrs. Sheehan will never see her first born son again. Shell never be able to embrace him. Shell never see her son get married. Shell never see a grandchild from her son.

Mr. Limbaugh, I ask for your public apology to both Army Spc. Casey Sheehan and his grieving mother, Cindy Sheehan.

    • It did not offend me. I expect nothing of you. But it did offend your Republican listeners that I have coffee with every Wednesday.
