THE AIM OF THIS PETITION IS TO RESCUE IN SOME WAY, THE MAGNIFICENT CULDEES CASTLE, NEAR MUTHILL, CRIEFF. AS THE OWNERS, IT IS HOPED DESPERATELY THAT YOU WILL CHANGE YOUR STANCE REGARDING THE TERMS ON WHICH YOU WOULD BE WILLING TO PART WITH IT, OR AT THE LEAST, HAVE IT REPAIRED. AT PRESENT IT IS IN DANGER OF BECOMING ANOTHER SHAMEFUL INSTANCE OUR ARCHITECTURAL HERITAGE BEING ERODED EVER CLOSER TO THE END. IT IS A PITY THAT THE GENERAL PUBLIC ARE UNAWARE OF JUST HOW FEW FINE BUILDINGS WE ACTUALLY HAVE LEFT. TO SEE ONE ROTTING DUE TO YOUR OWN INDIFFERENCE IS A TRADGEDY WE HAVE SEEN MANY TIMES BEFORE. IT IS TIME FOR THIS TO END !! SURELY YOU CAN SEE THAT THERE ARE PEOPLE WILLING TO DO WHAT IS NECESSARY TO RESCUE WHAT MUST STILL GIVE YOU PRIDE. SURELY YOU DO NOT WISH TO SEE IT FALL TO THE GROUND ? ENOUGH TIME HAS PASSED FOR YOU TO SEE THE SENSE IN THIS. THERE IS NO REASON FOR FURTHER DELAY. PLEASE, FOR THE SAKE OF OUR HERITAGE, AMEND THE GROUNDS ON WHICH YOU WOULD BE WILLING TO SEE THE CASTLE REPAIRED. IT'S TOO FINE TO GO TO WASTE. THERE WILL BE NO REPLACEMENTS FOR HOUSES SUCH AS THIS, IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT SOMETHING IS DONE!!
SAVE CULDEES CASTLE FROM ABSOLUTELY UNNECESSARY DEMISE !!

    • One of James Gillespie Grahams finest works. Sadly there are few left. His other notable works are also falling apart, such as the west wing of Taymouth Castle and Crawford Priory in Fife. Lets not let his work be lost again.

    • Unless financially hard pushed or of an age when the simple needs of life have become a real chore, there is no excuse for selfishness nor to allow Scottish heritage to collapse around one. If there are willing persons, who would be more than happy with some sort of retoration package, this offer ought to be grasped and thanks given. I have always loathed self-absorbtion born from ignorance.

    • I grew up in Muthill and this place means so very much to me, I would love to see the castle in all its glory. My childhood friends and I had a pact that we would buy this place if we ever won the lottery, sadly none of us have. Just off the track to the left (if facing the building) the River Earn makes a mini-waterfall in the summer months as dropped into the basin below. If you are passing don't be afraid to take a peak through the trees!
