We the undersigned urge the BBC to stop the move of Casualty from Bristol to Cardiff. Moving a regional production from one nation to a different nation, does not mean the BBC are producing more regional programmes.
Bristol is proud of Casualty and would like it to stay, especially as it provides many jobs in support industries as well as for the cast and crew.
It is difficult to see how the BBC can justify spending large amounts of licence payers' money on an unnecessary move, which would put many of those same licence payers out of work in the current economic climate.

- BBC viewers are well aware that Casualty is based and filmed in Bristol. There is no mistaking the famous Bristol landmarks, and local dialect, featured in the series. Not to mention that the series has been filmed in Bristol for over twenty years providing Actors extras technicians and casting agencies with employment, as well as promoting Bristol City. There are ample large empty historic Warehouses here in Bristol crying out to be put to good use. They could happily house both Holby city and Casualty sets, under the one roof. If you were to move casualty to Wales you would have the extra expense of covering road/street signs and Welsh language hoardings in general. As Holby city has to be recited through the closure of their present studio, it makes more sense for Holby to be filmed here in Bristol using the same studios as casualty, Rather than the London area which is more expensive. As a licence payer I vote to save money, by keeping Casualty in Bristol(if it ain't broke don't fix it)T.Martin

- This move, if it happens, will desperately effect hundreds of peoples livelihoods! Travellling to Cardiff is just not option for hundreds of SA's, cast and crew!

- There is very little acting work here in the South West compared to the South East. Please don't take some of what little there is away from struggling jobbing actors!

- It seems strange to take Casualty from a region to move it to another region, I understood that the idea is to move work out from London to the regions?

- I totally agree what 31. Sally Lomax wrote as we are both from Actor's Lab. We don't want it to happen, full-stop.
