Myron Cope was a great sports broadcaster and an icon in Pittsburgh. Thousands of Steeler fans would turn down their television volume and turn up their radio just to hear Myron Cope announce the game. He will greatly be missed and always loved. His spirit will live on by the hundreds and thousands of Steeler fans who wave terrible towels at the game, hang them up in their houses, mutter the words "Double yoi" at a horrible or amazing play, and so on. Many other great Pittsburgh heroes have a bridge named after him, and he deserves one too. Please sign this petition in honor of Myron Cope!

    • Not only was he an amazing and very enthusiastic sports broadcaster, but he was the inventor of a lot of the steeler traditions. Nicknaming great players ( "the bus") and creating the idea of the terrible towel. He is a legend and deserves something in Pittsburgh to remind everyone how truly dedicated he was to Pittsburgh.

    • Cope had national relevance and was unrivaled among his broadcasting peers; don't let his name get lost in the shuffle of time. Please incorporate his great name into the history of this great city.

    • Myron Cope is a legend, it would be an insult not to name some type of landmark after him, if not a bridge, atleast a statue or shrine in the great hall at heinz. Myron will be forever missed, to the creator of the terrible towel and the passion that is being a steeler fan, Rest in Peace Myron Cope.
