To Dan DiDio and DC Comics,

We, the undersigned, wish to voice our dissatisfaction at your decision to cancel the current Catwoman series as of issue #81 in July 2008. Since its launch under the pen of Ed Brubaker in 2001, the series has been critically lauded, and has successfully managed to develop Catwoman into one of DC's strongest and most complex heroines.

Too often strong female characters are unable to carry a series for a long period of time, with series such as Manhunter, Batgirl, and others have struggled with sales, ultimately resulting in their unfortunate cancelation. However, given the recent cancelation and relaunching of Manhunter (twice!), as well as the popularity and iconic status of the Catwoman character, we hope that you may reconsider your decision to cancel the Catwoman series and allow it to continue its run with the current numbering. As fans of the character, we would be disappointed to see our favourite female character to go from having her own monthly series to being reduced to appearing in various Batman-related titles whenever the writers feel so inclined to use her.

Please reconsider your decision, and allow this great character and series to continue to shine.

- Selina under Brubaker (and yes, Will Pfeifer!) is an amazing woman who grows up into a better entity with a mission, but still maintaining her edge. Pls keep her that way, and NOT as a regular villainess. She's way too much better than that.

- Please reconsider. Catwoman is my favorite title. Without a Catwoman title to pick up or Selina Kyle appearing on a regular basis, you may be losing this customer. Catwoman got me back into DC Comics, but if she's gone, so is my enthusiam for DC.

- It would be SO EASY for DC to make a success out of CATWOMAN! There really is no excuse for Catwoman to be misused and defamed the way she has been by both DC creative staff and by the WB film franchise. I personally have posted dozens of ideas for CATWOMAN on DC's Message Boards...ideas that took mere minutes to come up with - which are easily better ideas than what Will Pfiefer and others have had for the character. Catwoman's wild and unpredictable nature, combined with the heat of constant hot pursuit, and the heat of her provocative nature, should make it VERY easy for you, DC, to turn into a success. EVERYONE loves Catwoman. Most members of the general public will agree that Catwoman is respectable, exciting, alluring, dangerous, sexy, dynamic, scandalous, and overall very appealling when she drawn, written, CREATED to be everything that her name and reputation implies. I demand, as a loyal customer of DC Comics, that Catwoman either be RELAUNCHED or UNCANCELLED soon, or I'll stop supporting DC.

- I was just checking out the Catwoman TPBs (by Will Pfeifer) today at Borders. Really liked them and wanted to pick up all three of them. Then I found out online that Catwoman's title is cancelled. What a bummer! Please continue the series with Pfeifer writing and Lopez on art. PLEASE....

- Catwoman is practically an iconic character in her own right, having been around since the dawn of the Golden Age of Comics. Creative authors and illustrators have made Selina Kyle's character multi-dimensional and complex. She deserves her own series AS WELL AS a prominent role throughout the DC Universe. She could appear in the JLA, the Outsiders, Birds of Prey, and Secret Six. There are more than enough stories to tell: anti-hero, mother, thief, sentimentalist, materialist , a person with a moral code, a reluctant warrior, flawed but indomitable, a realist with ideals which are often either balanced against other considewrations or temporarily willfully submerged. Make Catwoman meaningful--return her regular monthly comic!
