Bed bugs have spread around the country and around the world. Many of us have been affected by this mentally, physically and financially. When DDT was used world wide over 60 years ago, bed bugs became almost extinct.

I urge you to find a solution to this problem. With the state of the economy, people are finding it very difficult to make ends meet and cannot afford to spend thousands of dollars in trying to rid of an infestation.

DDT or something like it, needs to be legalized once again.

    • These bugs are spreading and there is nothing effective on the market to stop them. They live in your floors and walls, not just your bed. They suck your blood for several minutes while you sleep. They are a health hazard (both physical and mental). Without public awareness and an effective chemical to stop them, we will soon have a very big problem on our hands.

    • Bed bugs are considered to be only a nuisance and only a pest because they do not transmit disease. This is totally FALSE. Bed bugs are more than a nuisance and a pest. Having no toys for the kids, no beds or furniture, tvs or anything that makes life enjoyable is stolen away by bed bugs. Your home is no longer a haven anymore. Peoples' quaility of life issue is at stake here. People, families have had to move away with NOTHING to ESCAPE bed bugs. People have gone into BANKRUPTCY because of bed bugs. The elderly, poor and disabled will be the ones to suffer the most. We, the people, are crying out to you, the government for help. Our government which is of the people, by the people and for the people...please help your people! Thank you.

    • Bedbugs must be taken seriously, and deserve the attention of government to help fund a solution to combatting them that does not cost thousands of dollars and require multiple treatments.

    • Bring DDT back for regulated use by professionals. This is a true public health menace and we cannot afford to be disarmed against it. Even the World Health Org. has reversed its position on banning DDT; we need to do the same.

    • DDT is not a problem. Bed bugs, however, rob you of your life in any and every way. It goes beyond description and if DDT can take care of ridding us of the problem it needs to be brought back!!!!!!!!!!!

    • The government needs to step in and allow the chemicals of the past to be used to eliminate these pests. Bed bug problems are widespread and something needs to be done as soon as possible.
