We the undersigned ask that Guelph Transit reviews and changes their rule to not allow double strollers on the bus.
This rule has caused urgent safety concerns to all toddlers who are not old enough to not be strapped down in a
stroller. It is very difficult to explain to a toddler why you must stay seated on a bus. It is impossible to hold a toddler down on a seat while standing up and holding on to a stroller.
This has also affected members of the public who rely solely on the bus system to get themselves and their children anywhere including the doctors and grocery shopping.
Parents who have multiple young children close together in age NEED to be able to use public transportation. Members of the public who have twins should also be able to access public transit.
Show us that the safety of Guelph's youngest citizens is important to Guelph Transit.

- This is also going back on trying to increase public transit use and get people out of thier cars. We want to encourage the use of public transit, not discourage.

- i have a four year old and a two year old and am 5 months pregnant....i dont drive so the bus is my means of getting around and if i have to use a double stroller i will not be able to go anywhere which is just ridiculous. i need to be able to get on the bus . My two year old will not be able to walk long ways and its hard enough to try and handle one walking while pushing a stroller nevermind two plus my 8 year old daughter.

- This is the most rediculus thing that guelph transit has ever done! No other city that I am aware of has this stupid rule. It's not only dangerous but a waste of time, money and effort. What exactly is the difference between a single stroller taking up 3 seats or a double stroller taking up 3 seats? Nothing at all since they are both as wide as each other!

- That's not fair. It's PUBLIC transportation for God sakes.. It's bad enough the bus is hardly EVER on time - but now we're being told too bad because we have children who need strollers? That's discrimination in my opinion. "Sorry you can't come on the bus if you have kids, and if you have kids - they can't be safe. We'd rather the children get hurt than have less room on the bus." Guelph Transit = IGNORANT.

- My children need to be safe on the bus. We use the bus to be environmentally friendly... and when I'm at work and my wife has the children out and about it worrys me that they're not going to be safe getting there. If GT is going to be this anal... maybe they should enforce seatbelts, or something. It's not fair that our children don't have this right anymore. Maybe they should make a bus that goes around strictly for people with strollers? Or a special bus service for strollers.. something. This isn't right. I agree below, it's discrimination.

- Thats silly, a double stroller takes up as much space as a single stroller, also takes up as much space as a WHEELCHAIR...are they going to stop allowing people in wheelchairs to come on the bus next ?!?!?!?

- I do not have kids, but I can understand why alot of people are upset. Without a double stroller for a single mother of young kids you just cant get around..

- I think not allowing double strollers on buses is a huge put down on mothers with more then 1 child. It's as if your saying if you don't like not being able to bring double strollers ont he bus then walk. It's insulting and rude
