This is a petition to amend mandatory drug testing as a prerequisite to attaining public support such as public housing, food stamps, and medical cards. The people demand that in order for a person to be granted assistance such as this, they must complete a drug screen; and to continue assistance, they must attend mandatory random drug screens for the remainder of assistance.

- THIS IS NEEDED. My mother in law and sister in law are both drug addicts and on the system, using fraud to get foodstamps to sell for their habbits while me and my husband take care of his sisters children. Drug screens should be mandatory

- I agree 100\% that they should have to be drug tested and randomly do drug test throughout their time of being on Section 8 or any kind of public assistance. The majority, (not all) of people I know on it , does drugs. If they have money for drugs, then pay your own rent and relying on everyone else to pay it .

- I applied for section 8. And I don't do drugs and I agree 100\% on drug testing to be able to get Section 8 or any assistance.

- this is so what needs to be done iam getting help from the government and iam drug free then i got friends and family on it to who sell they food stamps for drugs and they cash for drugs and cry to me cause they cant pay they rent

- Why should I pay to help people out if all they do is sit home and get high, then they cant get a job cause they cant pass a piss test.... so therefore they would sponge off the gov't which they dont mind they get to sit on their asses and get high with my money. I dont think thats to fair....

- Also add the present lazy folks who are collecting be tested at least 5 times a year at random times or cut their checks immediately. Must be clean for 6 months to resume payments. Bet by then, they find a job!!! You should have a site where we can post video of persons who are collecting public assistance or a disability while they do roofing jobs or sit in a bar and drink all day. Maybe embarrassment is what they need.
