We, the gaming community, have waited patiently for Deus Ex: Invisible War to come out. In anticipation for this game, the sequel to one of the best games of all time, many of us have downloaded the demo at release and have been extremely disappointed. If the demo is any indication of the game that will be released, we ask that Ionstorm please delay the release of the game to fix some pressing issues.
1) Localized damage. One of the great points of Deus Ex was the localized damage, where a player could have their legs or arms blown off and suffer consequences. In the same respect, the enemy could be disarmed through the use of localized damage, and we wish that this be implemented again.
2) Over simplification of the game. Some features of Deus Ex, although considered complex, were essential to game play. These included various statistics for doors and keybads, ability to have an interface for use with bots, and a more dedicated console for computer interfaces that supported the use of the mouse for easier access. In addition, the management of computer consoles with user names and passwords, as well as keypad combinations were a integral part to the immersiveness of Deus Ex. We wish that these features were reimplemented to give a feel of immersiveness to the game once again.
3) General unrealisticness. We feel that having weapons that shoot as long as there is ammo unrealistic. We wish that a simple "reloading" feature be reintroduced back into the game, as well as many other issues with realisticness.
4) Multiple choices. In the demo, there were no opportunities for silent take downs. In the demo for the first Deus Ex, we had a full sized level in which we were able to do many, many things in many different ways. In addition to not having multiple ways around an object, the opportunity for stealth take downs are now severely limited by the lack of a good silent melee weapon now that the prod has been replaced with a stun weapon.
5) For many other technical issues and aesthetics.
We realize that the game has "gone gold" and that this petition may do nothing to the game's overall design -- however, we wish to make some of these issues regarding Deus Ex: Invisible War known to Eidos Interactive Ltd. and Inonstorm.

- Not being able to take guys down with one slug to the head is like being slapped in the face. How are we supposed to employ effective stealth tactics if enemies don't even flinch after being shot square in the back of the skull? Also, the ability to shoot ememies twice before they become hostile is just plain stupid. People should be dead after one shot to the head.

- Please dont damage your reputation without at least justifying your decisions behind these design choices. At least delay the game long enough to allow your loyal fan base to understand why you have done this.

- As much as I want the game to be released, I agree and would not mind waiting a month or so longer to see some of these features amended

- No one outside of Ion Storm thinks Unified Ammo is good. You dumbed the game down to make it appeal to "mass market", but the reason people liked the original is BECAUSE of its complexity! You just flipped fans of the first game the bird, and dumbed the game down so far that even mainstream people think it's stupid. Positional damage, different ammo types, skills/accuracy crosshairs and the original inventory system DIDN'T make DX too complex, it made it a great game! If we wanted to play the original Doom we already can (and even it had different ammo types), there's no need to dumb your game down!

- The AI path finding is piss-poor. Also it is important to streamline menus and game options when possible, but it is also important to not lose site of what is reasonable. Come on, WTF were you guys thinking?

- I'm crushingly disappointed by what I've played by this game. I don't think a delay is possible at this point in all honesty, but I'd be happy for this game to be delayed by about a year, if it meant somehow bringing it nearer to the standards set by DX1. If it's going to be released in this state, "Deus Ex" should be removed from the name and the game just be called "Invisible War".

- If these issues are not addressed (especially the unrealisticness), you can count on one less copy of the game being sold. I, as a consumer, will not stand for this shoddy quality. I hope Inonstorm all DIE!!!!

- i havent yet played the demo, and am very hopeful. but the comments i have so far read have somewhat dampened my trust in Ion Storm. i can stand waiting another month for you guys to fix these issues, and it would slightly decrease the release gap between the us and uk. unless there is a nice patch, please consider a slight delay.

- it feels like a console port, plays like a console port, and is very dissapointing that most of what made deus ex 1 so immersive is gone.
