Dear members of Congress,
We, The Undersigned, are tired of seeing the American way of life slowly destroyed by those who don't wish to even adopt the most basic of our culture ... our English language. We are not asking that anyone give up their culture or their own language. Instead, we are simply asking anyone who lives in the United States of America to adopt and respect our culture of English as our "primary" and "official" language.
If special rights are given to specific individuals to change parts of America into dual languages, then where will it end? What is to stop other cultures from then forcing America to adopt their language as well? In the end, all Americans would be forced, from birth, to learn multiple languages, just to survive in their own country. We do not wish for this to happen.
There should be an "official" language of America and that language should be nothing other than English. Anyone wishing to become a citizen should then accept and respect this as part of their new American way of life.
This is just the first step that we, The Undersigned, wish to bring to the attention of the U.S. Congress. To follow would be addendums that then carry this new law into any "American" establishments, including, but not limited to, schools and restaurants. It should eventually include any establishment that is based in the United States and whose purpose is the support of the American way of life. This would obviously not include religious establishments, since those are centered around religion and not the American culture. Places such as these should be exempt so as not to infringe upon any American freedoms.
We, The Undersigned, all believe in the message above and would like the U.S. Congress to know exactly how many people in the United States of America are behind this kind of bill/law.
