Over 100 years ago Lode Star 4003 Steam Locomotive was rolled out of the Great Western Railway Works, Swindon Wiltshire England. This was the culmination of the career of George Jackson Churchward Chief Mechanical Engineer GWR. The loco completed 2 million miles before being withdrawn from service. It was preserved and placed in the Railway Museum Swindon in the early 1960s. However in the early 1990s it was removed and put on static display at The National Railway Museum York. This loco should be returned to its home the STEAM Museum of the Great Western Railway Swindon.

If you want to see Lode Star 4003 the only surving member of the Star Class, returned to her home in Swindon and once home; a fund raising campaign begun to return 4003 to working condition. Please support this effort and sign this petition
