PETITION TO STOP THE PROPOSED PURCHASE OF THE EJ&E RAILROAD BY THE CANADIAN NATIONAL RAILROAD
The undersigned hereby oppose the acquisition of the EJ&E Railroad by the CN Railroad, including but not limited to the following reasons; Griffith residents Quality of Life will be adversely affected by the proposed increased rail traffic through:
Additional Hazardous Waste Transports
Increased length of trains will increase delays at RR crossings
Increased response time for emergency vehicles
Current un-protected at-grade crossings
Increased noise pollution
The negative impact to our overall quality of life caused by the proposed increase in train traffic will adversely affect the values of our homes and businesses, the safety of our citizens, and bring a serious disruption to our daily lives. We oppose the acquisition of the EJ&E by the CN railroad.

- I am opposed to 34+ trains coming through my town daily. It will cause mass chaos with people trying to get through town going to and from their jobs.

- As a homeowner in Griffith, I fear the CN railroad's plan is ill-conceived and lacks significant planning.
