We as Science, Math and Special Education teachers were promised by the Student Loan People that we would be able to receive loan forgiveness for 20\% of the total of the loan for each year we taught in that specific field. This promise has now been broken. We the undersigned encourage you to reinstate the promise made to those of us who have already incurred the student loans to fulfill the critical education areas.

- I am a special education teacher who was a part of the Best in Class program. When I entered the program I was told that if I became a Special Education teacher and remained in that area of teaching I would be able to receive 20\% of my student loan paid back each year. So far I have not received that benefit. I decided to go into Special Education because I love it, but also because I could get some assistance with my degree. The state of KY requires all teachers to get a Masters degree. I followed my heart to work with more challenging students, but also had the understanding that in doing so I would be able to get some assistance with my loans.

- Those that were promised they'd have their loans paid off, should be 'grandfathered in' and the promise should be upheld. I understand that the program had to end, but those who had already started should have their loans paid back or our schools are going to lose many many highly qualified teachers!
