Actions to stop Alcee Hasting's ammendments to HR2647

Amendments proposed by Alcee Hastings to HR2647 are politically biased and driven against any and all members that oppose the current Obama administration. This proposed legislature is supported by the most recent report on extremist groups and activities in the United States published by the Department of Homeland Security on 7 April,2009. The legislation of HR2647, coincides with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) report in that Gun rights lobbyists, Pro life supporters, Combat Veterans, Christian groups and Libertarian party members and affiliates would be considered a threat to the National Security and potential "Domestic Terrorists". The 10 page report never once mentions any extremists from gangs such as the Black Liberation Army, Black Panthers, Crips, Bloods, Latin Kings or any other known violent and militant Groups affiliated with minorities.

What is clear in both the amendments to HR2647 and the DHS report on extremists is that the potential threats are all political opposition groups. It is possible that it is for this reason that no minority driven and led extremist groups are the focus. This legislation as well as the DHS report on extremism is unconstitutional in itself. What the legislation would do is give a blank check to the Secretary of Homeland Security to decide based on their personal, political agenda and preferences; who is and is not considered a "domestic terrorist" and threat to the Nation's Security. In actuality; this legislation and report identify mainly threats to the current administration.

It should be noted that Mr. Hastings has proven himself to be of immoral character and unfit to make such policy. In 1989,the former Judge Hastings was impeached by the US House of Representatives for bribery and perjury. The Democratic-controlled Senate convicted Hastings of accepting a $150,000 bribe in 1981 in exchange for a lenient sentence and of perjury in his testimony about the case. Hastings said the charges against him smacked of racism. Even Rep. John Conyers, who is also black, said he found no trace of racism during the investigation. He urged his colleagues to remove Hastings from the bench. He said, [Hastings] is unfit to serve.

We are looking at legislation that has been introduced by a criminal. The fact is that Mr. Hastings was convicted of perjury and bribery. Mr. Hastings is a product of the Congressional Black Caucus and their pressure to place African Americans in key positions of the new and current administration. When the ultra-liberal Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi nominated Hastings for the chairmanship of the House Intelligence Committee, even members of her own political party balked.

The prospect of Rep. Alcee Hastings becoming the chairman of the House of Representatives Intelligence Committee was proposed by Congressional Black Caucus, who had been pressuring the new House Speaker Pelosi to appoint blacks to key leadership positions and Hasting benefited from the pressure on the radical left Pelosi, said former Detective Sidney Frances (NYPD-ret.), himself an African-American.

With the previous aforementioned facts laid out it should be noted that Mr. Hastings has also proposed HR645. HR645 is legislation that would authorize use of closed military facilities throughout the USA to be used to "house Americans during times of Emergency" Americans would be placed in FEMA camps on closed military bases and guarded by Military and Obama's "Civil Defense Force police". If HR2647 is passed, then millions of Americans may be detained as "Domestic Terrorists" or threats to the Nation's security; and there will be a need for the facilities mentioned in HR645. HR645 introduced by Hastings would give the Secretary of Homeland Security a blank check to use these facilities as they see fit. No one should be trusted with this much unchecked authority.

We the people of the United States of America hereby denounce the proposal of
HR2647; because it is unconstitutional as well as politically,ethnically and racially biased. This bill stands against the "Bill of Rights" and interferes with the balance of liberty and justice for all. The proposal of HR2647 is reminiscent of the way that Adolf Hitler disposed of his political opposition in Nazi Germany. The supporting bill HR645 is as equally disturbing in that it sets the tone for a modern day concentration camp. These two bills combined create a hostile living environment where the citizens would be enslaved and in fear of the federal government.

The fact that both of these legislations are supported by the DHS report on extremists published April 7, 2009 is ludicrous. The DHS report is politically charged and biased against opposition to the new administration the nation. We the Americans do not wish to see HR2647 passed and will not tolerate it's existence.
