On Saturday November 09, 2008, Mrs Rose Kabuye , a senior Rwandan government official was arrested while on official duty in Germany.
Her arrest was based on a French judges indictments labelled at some top leaders of the Rwandan government.
The charges have been dismissed as politically motivated and a cover up by France for her role in the 1994 Tutsi genocide.
Mrs Kabuye is not only a role model to Rwandan women but also a hero who played a key role in stopping the Tutsi genocide.
Treating her as a criminal has caused pain to her family, friends and the entire Rwandan population.
We, Canadian-Rwandans strongly denounce her arrest.
We therefore seek your support in condemning this act and demanding her release by signing this petition.

- Nous sommes les victimes du Gйnocide des tutsi du Rwanda, mais pour la France nous sommes les agresseurs. Rose Kabuye a combattu pour ses droits, nos droits, pour les Rwandais, et pour son pays le Rwanda; ceci йtait contre le rйgime Juvйnal Habyarimana qui a prйparй et exйcutй le gйnocide des tutsi et que la France soutenait fortement. Alors, ceci explique bien l'arrestation de Mme Rose Kabuye.

- It is just ridiculous. Rose will emerge stronger, so will be the people of Rwanda. I wonder what will be left next with the detractors. The "real" Rwandan revolution, out of ashes, mourning and complete destruction, a STRONG NATION, looking forward for a certain brighter future is shaping up in the heart of Africa, thanks to people like Rose, persecuted just for that.

- In as far as the arrest of Rose Kabuye was carried out while she was on an official mission as an aide to a Head of State,her arrest in Germany on November 9 was a blatant affront on diplomatic protocol.That, Germany or France would seek to go after people like Rose Kabuye who fought against and defeated a genocidal regime is an absurdity especially when so many who are suspected to have played key roles in carrying out the GENOCIDE walk freely in France and Germany.As Canadian Rwandan, I join the voices of reason to express my outrage at the arrest and add my voice to demand her immediate release.

- The arrest of Rose Kabuye should, I hope, serve as a wake up call for all africans on how most Europian countries perceive us. Their attitude and arrogance have gone too far and may come back to bite them.Obviously, France has put in her mouth more than she can chew

- There is no Crime like "INJUSTICE" ... no matter where committed and by whom in this world. Rose's arrest should be condemned for what it stands. Yes, it does take time; but truth eventually prevails and patience is a virtue as the old adage goes.
