Petition to Save the Music Program @ Indian Prairie School District 204
I support and am willing to pay a $50-$100 music fee this coming School year (2010-2011) in order to retain the quality and integrity of the Middle School Music Technique Classes AND the quality of the elementary Music programs by retaining as many of the elementary and MS music teachers and allowing the Technique teachers to remain teaching Technique classes. Please see the fee and/or donation I would personally support in the appropriate column.

    • Through the efforts of our District's award winning music program and technique classes, we have watched our daughter go from learning simply how to hold her instrument to becoming one of the top performers in our Philharmonic. We know that money is tight, but please don't cut a program that is successfully giving our students an opportunity to experience the value of music at both its most fundamental and profound levels.

    • I belive in addition to this fee, you should investigtate all revenue generating opportunities, e.g., model after large state universities and develop a development/fundraising department -- time to stop relying on unreliable state funds. It is fiscally responsible at this point.

    • I have a 6th grader, and 2 high schoolers. Technique is vitally important to the success of the students, to keep them learning and enjoying their instrument. By removing technique, the students' achievement would be detrimentally affected. Please do not remove technique.
