Re: www.741.com Windows 7 Student Discount

Your upgrade option does not work as is stated. Upgrade paths such as 32-bit XP to 64-bit Windows 7 are not possible with your product since the executable installer file is 64-bit. Other similar upgrade paths are also difficult, and a clean install (as your website described for this product) is practically impossible without a bootable DVD.

We understand that Microsoft will refund our purchase, but it would be best if you would fulfill your promise of providing a product which we pre-ordered. Thank you in advance for remedying this situation.

    • Absolute bloody shambles. I expected an easy upgrade path from XP, but you made it as awkward and difficult as possible. Thank God for the internet community who have stood in for your useless support.

    • I have the exact same issue. the .exe would not run so I had to install 64 bit vista over the 32 bit and then up the upgrade to Win 7 64.

    • Ridiculous, the download should be an ISO anyway. You should never do an in-place upgrade to begin with!

    • I had to install an illegal win7 copy because my xp 32 bit wouldn't allow me to upgrade. We need an .iso that will allow us to provide a legit xp key or something better than this!

    • I actually purchase the same product via an Australian website that digital river also services with the very same issues. False advertising is taken very seriously in Australia, I suggest that you ensure you are selling what you claim.
