Movement of Away fans nearer the North Stand at ITFC

Over the past few seasons there has been a noticeable slump in the atmosphere at Portman Road. The away fans are located about as far as possible from the vocal North Stand. Away fans from nearly every club have noticed the poor atmoshere there is at Portman Road and the severe lack of light hearted banter that there is from the South Stand and have noted it as being the main part of the experience that they found least enjoyable at ITFC, some even mentioning the crowd at Portman Rd. to be no more than "cardboard cut outs" that they "don't get behind their team."

Clubs in this division which I will now list, all have their vocal home fans near to the away fans which shows there is no reason why this can't be done at Ipswich:

Bristol City, Hull, West Brom, Crystal Palace, Cardiff, Preston, Blackpool, Leicester, Southampton and even our two local rivals Norwich and Colchester.

These are just the clubs from the Championship with countless others in the Premiership and Lower divisions, where it is managed safely and effectively. Many of the clubs noted above have some of the best home atmospheres in the division and it is no coincidence.

So we propose to Ipswich Town Football Club that we can boost the atmosphere at Portman Road like many other clubs by having the away fans moved to the north end of the Cobbold Stand. We would hope the club could listen to its loyal fans. Signitures will also come from away fans who have visited Portman Rd.

- We are one of the most behaved fans in England it wouldn't cause any fan trouble and it has to be done it is becoming a laughing stock hearing away fans saying the atmosphere at Portman Road is bad because there not near the voice of Portman Road that is the "North Stand" so please can you move the away fans in the Cobbold but near the North Stand so we as a club can have a better reputation in that we create a good atmosphere.

- After visiting Portman Road last season it was a good experience just the atmosphere from the home fans was lacking but after being sat in the north stand last season aswell i feel moving the away fans up there will make the experience much better for all involved.
