The "Ides of May" Economic Recovery Campaign

I hereby support the "Ides of May" economic recovery campaign (www.IdesofMay.org). I understand that the United States is currently in an "economic war" with the Recession. I am one of millions of American citizens who are concerned about the current state of our economy and our quality of life. I believe the time has come for Americans to join together for a national day of spending to jump start the economy and fight back against the Recession. That day is the Ides of May (Friday, May 15, 2009).

I believe that once spending significantly resumes on this day, it will revitalize the economy, have a snowball effect, and continue to improve as more and more consumers regain confidence and find strength in numbers.

I remember that President Franklin D. Roosevelt, in his Inaugural Address during the Great Depression in March of 1933, said: "The only thing we have to fear, is fear itself.". I remember that President John F. Kennedy once said: "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country." I know the time has come for ME to do something for my country and spend money on Friday, May 15th, 2009.

I know that President Obama and Congress cannot solve this problem alone without the help and support of individual Americans. Accordingly, I hereby pledge not to give into fear any longer. I WILL spend money on the "Ides of May" (Friday, May 15th) to help stimulate the economy. I also encourage my fellow Americans to join me in this grass-roots level movement to take this problem into our own hands and fix our economy.

Finally, I have a warning for the Recession:

"Beware the Ides of May"

Because this IS war... and we're coming for you.

Your days are numbered as we're taking back our economy and our American way of life... ourselves.
