Many of you will have seen the many petitions and groups on MySpace and Facebook and the like with many, many people declaring their support for Jeremy Clarkson if he decides to run in the next General Election. I myself think this is a worthy cause!

However this has already been done and is NOT the reason for this petition. I believe that in the run up to his election campaign, in order to pull in the voters and get his message across to the nation (and the rest of Europe, the penny will drop in a few seconds...) he should oust Graham Norton and be the commentator for the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 and any additional years after this.

Some of you may be aware that Terry Wogan has quit Eurovision and Norton is taking over but I think we can do better. Clarkson is the way forward. If youve watched the Eurovision Song Contest before you will know full well the way votes go and the comments made by Wogan at the announcement of votes. However I believe we can take it to a new level, a side-splittingly funny level if Clarkson was the commentator. Not only would he speak his mind and declare an act rubbish if they are (probably all the acts if its Clarkson but hed be right probably!). He'd also speak his mind on the voting!

I know hes free from F1 commentary (which is a shame) but you can make a difference! Sign this petition and try to get Clarkson the UKs Eurovision host!
