A Petition Requesting Congressman Jack Murtha to Rescind and Apologize for his Statements Concerning the Falsely Reported Marine Attack at Haditha

Whereas all seven of the US Marines court-martialed to date have had their records expunged, charges dropped and acquitted of all charges surrounding the falsely reported "Attack at Haditha", and

Whereas this "incident" was brought to national exposure, in part, by horrendous accusations publicly espoused by the Pennsylvania Democrat Congressman and VietNam veteran, Jack Murtha, and

Whereas Mr. Murtha's accusations now have been proven incorrect in all but one case (which has yet to go to court) of the eight cases brought to the USMC courts martial,

We, the undersigned, as United States taxpayers who hire all 535 congressmen, senators and the millions of other government employees, require that our employee, Congressman Jack Murtha do quickly and completely apologize and beg publicly for forgiveness from the eight Marines, from the USMC and from the President of the United States, for Murtha's efforts to embarrass and humiliate the United States military establishment, the President's policy in Iraq, and the USMC.

We expect a full, public and nationally broadcast apology from Murtha on or before 04 July 2008.
