Leave Halloween Alone and Help Keep The Date October 31st.

Sign This Petition To Stop The National Retailer Spirit Halloween's Campaign for Permanent Saturday Halloweens. They are trying to increase their business by changing a holiday permanently. If this is allowed to proceed, the precedent will be for retailers to change holidays as they desire.
If you want to stop this from happening, you need to support our cause by signing this petition for presentation to congress.

    • If Halloween is allowed to change, then there really is no freedom of religion. Would anyone move Christmas? No because Christian majority would complain. Just because those who celebrate Halloween as a religous practice are a minority, doesn't mean they should have their rights taken away and their holiday made changed for "retail's convienience"

    • I'm not a historian of halloween, but I believe every holiday should be set in stone and not changed for anybody. Regardless of the situation, (weather, etc.) Halloween should be; and stay on it's original date. I think that if halloween can be changed over a corporate company that monopolizes halloween by selling nick-nacks then don't you think that could just mean someone such as Bill Gates can change New Years? or... Toys R Us can change Christmas? Or... Hallmark can change Valentines? or some TURKEY breeder can change thanksgiving NO that's all corporate monopoly power and I think it should be regulated by the united states of america.

    • If we make changes to have Halloween fall on the last Saturday of Oct., then we should make changes to have all the holidays fall on weekends.

    • I am not an US citizen. I am Canadian and i think think it's a load of crap to try and change the date of a RELIGIOUS holiday so it can become more commericalized.

    • Please leave Halloween alone. It should always be October 31st. It is a religeous holiday (Samhain) that should not be altered for the selfish reason of making money off of it.

    • This is more about Spirit trying to capitalize on the business benefits of having Halloween on a weekend. Personally, I love halloween but I think this is a ridiculous proposal!! Keep it on the 31st!
