Sign This Petition To Stop The National Retailer Spirit Halloween's Campaign for Permanent Saturday Halloweens. They are trying to increase their business by changing a holiday permanently. If this is allowed to proceed, the precedent will be for retailers to change holidays as they desire.
If you want to stop this from happening, you need to support our cause by signing this petition for presentation to congress.

- Halloweem always was, always is, and always should be October 31st. Moving it from that date, especially for commercial reasons, is just plain stupid.

- There are many cultural and religious reasons why it is important to keep Halloween on the 31st of October. We wouldn't even think of changing the date of Christmas, so why would we change the date of Halloween?

- This is the craziest thing I have ever heard of in my life. Most holidays such as Halloween and Christmas for example are religious holidays for some religious and pagan groups. To change the holidays to permanent days would be an outrageously unnacceptable thing to do and seriously damages the line of the seperation of church and state.

- There have always been people who want to make money , and there have always bee people who want to have a special holiday. Those of us who want a special holiday, keep it no matter which day it is convenient for a society to celebrate publically. I have never been one to celebrate my personal holidays with more than those I am very close with. I don't really care when the rest of the world celebrates, my holiday falls on Oct 31, EVERY year. I only get the day off if it happens to fall on my regular day off.

- This is very frightening indeed that this is even being considered. Halloween is set in a historical tradition that goes back many years. Halloween isn't just a time for trick or treating for many it is a time of ritual and ceremony. For others a day of rememberance. To change the day of Halloween to be a permanent Saturday is really blurring the lines between the seperation of church and state don't you think.. Our government tells us what to do enough they don't need to spread their poisonous reach to our churches and religious, pagan groups celebrations and traditions. We need to all stand up and say hell no to this idea!

- no holiday soud have it's date changed for any reason. especially for some busness that just want to make a better profet . there are other options they can explore. changing the date of a national holiday is unexceptable. other options they can look in to are perhaps expanding their products to other holidays rather than just the one.

- Halloween is a tradition set on the 31st. DO NOT change the date for greed and profit. Do yourself a better job and work on things that REALLY matter to aiding this country. Stop wasting tax dollars and our time by considering ideas such as this.

- Please keep Halloween on its traditional day. The day this holiday falls on is significant and has meaning. Perhaps by introducing this legislation that is the point. It would be wise for legislators to remember that there are a lot of people in the United States who are not Christian.

- Halloween is also a religious holiday which falls upon the 31st. No one would allow Christmas to be moved in this fashion.

- I celebrate Halloween ALL October. By changing the date it not only ruins the spirt and tradition, but it decresses the Holiday itself.

- Halloween is October 31, the way New Year's Eve is December 31 or Christmas is December 25. If we move Halloween for "convenience and safety", we should move those other holidays as well.

- This is not just a commercial sales day, it is a holiday that has been celebrated for longer than most realize. It is not something you just decide to change the date on to suit the corporate machine. Try as you will, you can't change time.
