    • The traffic problem in Lower Bengeo has been getting slowly worse since the closure of PortVale. Residents in the area have been campaigning for nearly 10 years for the problem to be resolved . 4 years ago prompted by the hit and run accident where a Byde Resident was left for dead on the street a residents association was formed and has been campaigning council and councillors to resolve this issue. Quality of life and safety for residents must be delivered in an effective and final solution as this problem will not go away.

    • Not just any solution, an improvement. Volume of traffic is the problem, not speed.

    • We do not feel the present trial has been at all successful as drivers are just finding alternate routes down into Byde Street.

    • Still very concerned over the speed of traffic using Byde Street rather than the volume. Also concerned at the increase in parking for the station on the upper part of Byde Street.

    • Finding a way of preventing traffic from using our streets as a rat run would significantly improve the quality of life for all the residents in our community.

    • Living right on the rat run it's an absolute nightmare to even reverse out of my drive in the morning to go to work. It's also difficult to get in to my drive for the same reason. Abuse off people using the rat run is a common occurance

    • The recent changes regarding the no-right-turn into Cross Road and Tower Street have done nothing to address the problem down Byde Street and branch roads. I am a resident of Church Road which has seen an explosive increase in volume of traffic down Church Road during the morning rush hour. Drivers can by-pass the no-right-turn by turning down The Avenue resulting in traffic flowing down Church Road. In my opinion, the volume of traffic down Byde Street has not reduced at all. This solution was not thought out properly as there is alternate access to the old 'rat run' in one direction via The Avenue- what about the reverse direction in the evening?? Increased traffic volume down The Avenue represents heightened levels of risk to children attending Bengeo School. This is another example of NIMBY. Individuals, when purchasing property in Byde Street and affected streets are aware of what they are buying into. Unfortunately the proposals that were implemented did not take into consideration the 'big picture'

    • Drivers continue to ignore the no right turn at Cross Rd or use The Avenue despite restricted access. Traffic continues to speed through the estate regardless of pedestrians or parked cars. Why are not cameras not being used to monitor and prosecute drivers who are breaking the law?

    • Cross rd. turning still being used illegally - cameras may be an answer. Residents only parking in Lower Bengeo might help the access, stopping the roads from becoming single file only - this area is an accident waiting to happen.

    • there is going to be a nasty accident if this is not resolved soon. the new regulations do not seem to have solved the problem at all.
