The main purpose of this petition is to request the unreleased music from Howard Shores Lord Of The Rings: Fellowship Of The Ring on CD. It has been previously mentioned that such a CD would probably be available in the future, but there hasnt been any recent news. The secondary purpose of this petition is to make the people who would be responsible for the complete score aware of what fans would like.
Things It Should Have:
1.) All or most of the music according to events in the film. The original CD did a great job of having all of the pieces of music in chronological order.
Things It Shouldnt Have:
1.) Dialogue and sound effects from the movie. There have been too many releases like this. Previously unreleased music should not include voiceovers or sound effects so that the music can be enjoyed for its own sake. One can watch the film if they want dialogue and sound effects.
2.) Remixes. This appears to be another popular trend by album producers, but is very unpopular with fans. Some scores feature several remixes and alternate versions of the same pieces that were not actually used in the film. Sometimes they are good, but more often than not, there was a reason these remixes werent used. They also have a tendency to take the place of music from the film that could have been included on the CD.
3.) Edited concert versions of pieces. This is a little complicated. The pieces of music should be presented using the full versions Howard Shore recorded more so than the edited versions used in the film because the film sometimes had to excise parts of the score that were recorded. For example, a good portion of music is excised in the film at the To the Bridge of Khazad Dum sequence that is actually on the original motion picture soundtrack on Track 13 The Bridge of Khazad Dum.

- Everything about this film is unique and extremely important to everyone who loves this story. Howard Shore's score and additional music from the film (Flaming Red Hair) are a huge part of the heart of this story. Please, release all the music from this film and the subsequent films released over the next 2 years. Thank you.

- Most people agree that this is one of the best film scores in a long time. The CD does a good job of representing it as well as possible, but due to the lenght of the score, there is a lot of important material that is still unreleased (e.g. dozens of renditions of the RIng theme). By the way, most people (including me) don't have problems with alternates and concert versions. Those are great to have - as long as all the original score is on the album as well. The "Star Wars" Special Editions did a great job at that.

- One cannot help feel a little skeptical, and perhaps even cynical regarding an on-line campaign of any nature, though if this petition in any small way aids the artists involved, and the audience that *does* exist for this music, then I encourage and support it. Shore's masterful contribution to Jackson's amazingly crafted vision is indeed a landmark in this day and age when film scores are too quickly discarded and disregarded. My compliments and sincere thanks for those who contribute to and encourage this work.

- I'm a great fan of film music and I love the "Lord of the Rings" OST. But I was a little disappointed, that this Score doesn't include ALL the music from the film. It would be great if you could release a complete OST of "Lord of the Rings" like the ones for the Star Wars films.
