- MTV,you must do this.Layne Staley and Alice in Chains were an outstanding band for years and you treat his death as if they were some on hit wonder who faded into obscurity.Do this or lose a viewer forever.Godspeed Layne...no more pain,no more sadness,no more isolation. You are free and cured now

- That's is so screwed that you can't realize how big of an influence Layne and AIC has had on the bands out now, ones that MTV proudly plays all the damn time (Godsmack, Creed, do I really need to go on???)

- If Layne had died in 95, MTV would've taken the time. But since he's not the current flavor of the week, they don't care. I remember when MTV played music, not teen girl trash. Give Layne some respect!

- MTV is by far one of the most disrespectful organizations. If its all about the music, give the fans what they want. Stop ignoring us.

- MTV, for one reason or another, has felt the need to completely ignore the death of one of the pioneers of the "grunge" movement. For this reason alone, my name has been added to this list.

- Not that he deserves an MTV tribute to rest in peace, but "corporate mainstream bullshit" networks need to show respect to this man that was more than just a singer....

- This is crap. Layne Staley was a visionary. If we can remember a band like TLC, and Lopes, we sure as heck can remember an amazing band such as Alice in Chains and Staley. Don't ignore him for his mistakes.

- a death is a death, Left Eye lopez was no more important than Layne Staley. I guess because TLC was more profitable that's the reason. Remember when it was about the music?

- Mtv has no respect. Although Alice in Chains may not have sold as many albums as groups in the grunge era, can you really think of another band from that time that has influenced influenced as many bands out there today? I dont think Nirvana has, or Pearl Jam. Alice in Chains is the band that has been copied more than any other. You show no respect. For all you say about how much you have done for music with music videos, you are sell outs. Mtv can take it deep.
