I would like game manufacturer's support for Linux.
So many Linux users aren't only using Linux due to their favourite games being only playable on Windows or a Mac. We Linux users should be able to play our favourite games on whichever Operating System we wish.
I personally wish EA Games to help directly or by helping others like Transgaming (compatibility) or LGP (native ports to Linux). All they would need to do is give them the game source code (which in turn could help the Sims 2 community), or explain to them/help them with getting it to run in Linux.
If big companies start to do this others will follow. Epic games (Unreal Tournament) and ID games (Doom) are good examples of this.
If you would like to help Linux users play all games on Linux, please sign this petition.

- America's Army: Operations on Linux was awesome! But... they cancelled it. Almost the only thing I ever use Windows for is games. I would buy games for Linux instead if they sold them for Linux.

- I often miss good games on Linux, there are only a few. please think also of the forward compatibility of your game. with windows-only support, it will not be possible to play it in near future of only ~10 years

- I want very badly to switch from Windows to Ubuntu but the incompatibility of games is by far my biggest hold-up. You already port a lot of games to Mac, which has a pretty small market share and which pales in comparison to the sophistication of Linux OSes like Ubuntu.

- Today we buy games in DVD/online distributors. Tomorrow will be in Blu-ray discs. That's more than enough space to put a game in Mac OX, Linux and Windows. Why not doing it today? 2 years ago there were games in 3+ CDs!! Well if space is a problem, sell the games on 3DVDs! Instead of 1000.000.000 copies sold it would be (easly) 2x or 3x the times! No more windows/mac/linux-lending-hardware and crap-emulator software just to play a simple LAN Party!

- GNU / Linux is the Unversal Operating System and should be used as the base platform for all games. Checkout http://digg.com/linux_unix/Games_as_an_alternative_Linux_desktop_strategy

- I already buy the games from id, epic, etc. Downloadable installers (although included would be better..) is all I ask the rest of the companies for.

- It's assumed that every gamer is a Windows user (like me). This is unfair. Then again, I dual boot Ubuntu 1.04 and still find Windows 7 easier to use. (I would say user friendly, but for the price)
