Yesterday, the United States once again used its veto power to shield Israel from the condemnation of the United Nations. In doing so, the United States not only effectively condones the killing of women and children, but also diminishes our moral authority and damages our standing in the international community. We at MAPAC are concerned about the continued use of veto power by the United States to consistently support Israel without any reservation. We call upon our government to join the rest of the world community by promoting justice and by returning to an even handed policy with regards to this conflict. We call upon our elected officials to investigate the use of armaments provided by the United States government to attack a civilian population and to condemn the continued attack on civilians by the Israeli government.

We the undersigned would like our representatives to investigate these issues.

    • 'Veto power' at UN must be abolished or put up for sale to the highest bidder openly. If not accomplished I think that UN itself must be abolished being just as useless as the resolutions presented therein.

    • I support this measure not only because it is the moral thing to do, but it is politically practical As a recent study notes, the conflict between Israel and Palestine is the core issue involving Muslim opposition to the West. The blind U.S. support of Israel hurts our standing among all Muslims
