FireWire ports in Apple consumer notebooks

Are you the Author?
We all love your products, Apple Inc.! But your recently refreshed line of consumer notebooks lacks the possibility to plug in digital audio and video equipment as well as fast mass storage devices. Therefore, we pledge to purchase a new MacBook or MacBook Air if you, the inventor of FireWire technology, would be so kind to bring back FireWire ports to those products.

    • I use professional audio interfaces on my MBP that require FW 400 ports. It's an outrage that these ports have been taken off the latest builds of MBPs. I have owned 10 new macs in my life and will have to seriously consider other options if these ports aren't returned. Dedicated FW 400 & 800 ports are critical for music & design work.

    • There goes Target Disk mode. I've used that so many times! What about booting off an external? Does Apple really think people don't have a need to do that sometimes? Either bring back Firewire as a basic or give us something else that could do all that Firefire could.
