We call upon Canterbury City Council to immediately drop plans to close the Roman museum and the Westgate Towers museum. These museums are assets to our city and should be kept open for residents and visitors alike to enjoy.

- These museums do not need to close. It is just a matter of making choices. The council is simply in danger of making the wrong ones!

- The history celebrated by these museums is Canterbury's most defining feature after the cathedral.

- Canterbury's museums contain so much cultural heritage - it's an outrage that the prospect of them being closed is even being considered. If the council wishes to cut back its expenditures in the future maybe it should think twice before wasting thousands of pounds of taxpayers' money on an idea which was not fully thought through, for example a TV station which received very little coverage or interest.

- Thoroughly against the closure of any educational facility. Roman museum showcases important aspect of city's heritage and should be preserved.

- These are valuable educational facilities as well as being tourtist attractions and their closure may bring short term benefit to the council but long term damage where visitors bypass Canterbury.

- These museums should be seen as a visitor attraction that will enhance the economic future of the city, if they are well publicised!
