Starting in 2006 the County of Los Angeles started to use the Nuisance Abatement Team to enforce the LA County Code. Since then there have been reports from residents of the unincorporated areas of the Los Angeles County of harsh treatments from the NAT teams. Removing teenagers from a dwelling at gun point and destruction of property are just two examples of the harsh treatments. We ask the Board to review the tactics used by the Nuisance Abatement Team and implement a way that the NAT team can apprehend the residents and treat them humanely.
