  • I am in full support of this sign and believe that it will be a tremendous help the the parents and students. I believe it will increase participating, boost pride, raise test scores, and help keep students involved and more active in school activities. It will fit right in with the district goals to improve communication and fits with the recommendations of the Cambridge report. It has been part of the communication goals of Parents for Norwalk High and is the next step (email, Fact Finder, web site, electronic sign) to keep parents informed with up-to-date information and reminders. It is attractive and brings communication at NHS into the 21st century.

  • I wholeheartedly believe this sign will be woth it's weight in gold to not only the students, parents, teachers, neighbors, district and entire community. It will bring up test scores, etc., the benefits too numerous to list, just by it's very state-of-the-art, up-to-date information bringing the high school into the 21st century.

  • To the members of the Planning Commission & Zoning Commission; respectively: I ask that you support the installation of this electronic marquee. I believe this type of display would not have an adverse affect on the neighborhood. In my travels around the state, Ive seen similar marquees installed at a variety of schools. I find them be less intrusive and gaudy than most of the electronic signs approved for use by businesses. I even look to some of these school marquees for basic information such as time and temperature! I further believe it would neaten up the area by eliminating some of the placards, posters and banners currently used to give notice of functions in and around Norwalk High School. It is imperative to keep parents and the community, as a whole, informed. Given our Connecticut Yankee / New England roots, this marquee would serve as a modern day Town Crier; an E-Crier, if you will; displaying important information about school functions, meetings and alerts to all passers-by.
