Christianity Mocked at Government-funded High School:
The term Separation of Church and State continues to be a modern day summation of the anti-establishment clause that prevents the State from promoting religion. This time, the violation of the anti-establishment clause has surfaced with a new ugly face where the State of New Mexico has willingly participated in the trashing and ridiculing of Christianity, the religion from which stem the principles used as the foundation of this great nation.
Hamlet 2 is an upcoming comedy film directed by Andy Fleming and starring Steve Coogan, Catherine Keener, Amy Poehler, and David Arquette. Produced by Eric Eisner, Leonid Rozhetskin, and Aaron Ryder, Hamlet 2 was filmed primarily at West Mesa High School in Alburquerque, New Mexico and is scheduled to be released in August 2008.
Not only were students permitted to perform as extras in the film,[1] but the The New York Times noted of the film, It made sure to take shots at Christians, gays, Latinos, Jews, the American Civil Liberties Union and Elisabeth Shue, one of its lead actresses.[2]
On September 12, Governor Bill Richardson announced the filming of Hamlet 2 in an effort to promote a $1.2 Billion dollar filming industry in the State of New Mexico. [3] Gov.
The actual movie trailer which can be seen on Youtube.com http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZEYk6Q7f8Y, depicts a blasphemous series of shameful and revolting characterization of Jesus Christ, the name which is above all names in the Christian religion. Most public schools have already banned prayer from graduations etc, and now those who would have their way in the name of freedom of speech, have taken their ghastly insults of religion to new heights by utilizing public funded dollars to promote squalid anti-religious antics in the most effective form of media and entertainment, the movies.
This petition is for all who hold their religious beliefs as a sacred and God given right in these United States of America to take a stand and declare that ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! Though there is a remote possibility that the Albuquerque Public School district as well the Governor of New Mexico may have been duped into promoting this evil, outrageous, and scandalous mockery of the Son of Man, the most holiest man who has ever walked the earth, the American public understands that there exists a line of decency which should never be allowed to be crossed.

Therefore for the reasons state above, we the undersigned execute this petition for the rights of all Christians and on behalf of all people of religious faith by demanding the following:
1) That government-funded institutions not be allowed to participate in the mockery of religion in any shape or form.
2) That the distribution of Hamlet 2 be banned from distribution to theaters due to its insensitive and appalling insults to the Christian Faith.
3) A public apology to Christians as wells as the innocent students (minors) who where enticed to participation in this State funded mockery of Jesus Christ.

    • I am saddened by this blatant mockery of Jesus Christ in the upcoming movie HAMLET 2. Why would anyone think that God approves of this garbage? Is nothing sacred anymore?

    • Right on! This wretched movie, or anything like it, is the last thing our world needs. There are already athiests and antichristians running around spewing out their vile hethenistic so called thoughts and opinions about "how there is no God, and how this world is so much better off without religion". They blame christianity for the problems THEY created! THEY scorn god for their own misery and for the challenges put in front of them, which are designed to make them stronger and better people, for their benefit! They retaliate against their creator and lord and refuse to beleive in what is right and what keeps our souls from damnation! They make a mockery of all that is righteous and all that is keeping us from self destruction, and eternal hell! If we allow this movie to be released, it will do nothing but add to the already high moral decline of our society! It will start a chain reaction, allowing even more filth from the athiest community to come flowing from our culture!

    • I was initially looking forward to this movie coming out, and i planned to see it with alot of my friends. i am not a christian in any sense of the word, in fact in most cases christianity leaves a bad taste in my mouth. i enjoy demented humor, the very very darkest humor possible is the funniest to me. but that doesnt mean i am without moral convictions. having read this petition, i realize that this movie is a GOVERNMENT FUNDED punch in the face to a whole creed of people. if this movie werent government funded, i wouldnt have signed the petition. i have a strong belief in the first amendment. but this is what seems to be a desperate effort from a money hungry man who used cheap, dirty tactics to return quick results. that is a disgrace to the world of comedy, film, and art in general.

    • What were they thinking? Are they thinking that this movie would be a good one? Oh no! Something against Christ is the worst thing you could do. They should remove everything that relates to this movie and start saying sorry before it's too late. I can't wait to see this production's downfall.

    • I'll be #22, just to remind you all that Extremist Christains are in the same boat as Exteremist Muslims. You lost this fight. Why? because we live in America. You can sign meesly petitions online, or get off you ass and do something like, protest in front of the theater. I'm happy to see that so so so few christians are doing anything. You vote with your dollars people! If you don't like this movie or anything else like it, don't buy anything with a major label, not even toilet paper. Then you will have withdrawn your .000000000000001\% of monies that go toward these things. *sigh*

    • It didn't say in the constitution that you could make fun of religions. I believe that people have the right to protest against things like these that are offensive and insulting, especially when it comes to religion since it is very sacred to millions and millions of people.
