TO David Caplan the Ontario Minister of Health and Long-term Care

WHEREAS Canadians have the right to publicly funded healthcare and it is the governments legal responsibility to protect this right.

WHEREAS For-Profit wellness centres, which charge user fees marginalize those Canadians who are unable to afford these fees. The wellness centres also drain human resources from the publicly-funded system and threaten the NAFTA exemption for healthcare services.

WE, the undersigned, petition the government of Canada as follows: That the government needs to uphold its responsibilities to ensure that principles of the Canada Health Act are honoured by not allowing for-profit healthcare organizations, such as Wellness Institutes, to be established and operated in Canada.
