Newton NEEDS a skatepark

Newton, Ma needs a skate park. Skateboarding is viewed as a big problem around here and I as well as everyone who signs this, feels that a skate park would solve the problem. Skateboarders in Newton are often told to "find somewhere else to skate" but we don't have anywhere else, but some public bench or stair set. This is the on-going problem. It's gotten to a point where I've been physically pushed off of my skateboard for skating a stair set that belonged to the city. Us skateboarders are viewed as criminals, with such a low crime rate in Newton. The reason for this, is because cops are frequently called on us for skateboarding in areas that we're technically not supposed to. However, we skateboard in these areas because we don't have a skate park. I ask those of you who are reading this to please consider the benefits of a skate park in Newton and sign this petition.

    • This needs to happen! Newon should have a skatepark because people who skate are tired of getting kicked out of places that they skate. They have nowhere else to go because there is no skatepark!

    • This would be a huge benefit to Newton Center because theres nowhere you can spend time and not have to pay money besides the playground, and you can't skate there.

    • it is absurd that we have to get yelled at to skate somewhere else when there is no were else, and people get fields all the time for football and soccer and basket ball and tennis courts, well what makes skaters less diserving of a park and people might tell you well there is one in waltham, well no trains go to waltham, and its a pain in the ass to get there, and im sure that there are so many fields and courts from newton and moody street.
